Throwback to 1977
In 2024, marked the re-introduction of the Broncos' orange crush threads under the NFL legacy uniform program. The goal of our visual design package was to pay homage to the 1977 Orange Crush era in a modern-way, combining a nostalgic feel and rich team tradition with new-age aesthetics. The elements ahead provide a deeper look at the process and intent behind the our throwback look for the season.
In 2025, we created extensions for the brand for co-themed games like Vamos Broncos. As well as, adding new elements to freshen up the look.
BRAND ASSETS
Developing the Foundation
To evoke a spirit of 1977, we look a deeper dive and went under the hood to examine football, sports, and advertising avaliable from that time—including television catalogs, movie posters, and more. Additionally, we looked more closely at team branding by researching print advertising, game programs, tickets and publications distributed around 1977 timeframe.
The deep tradition of the Denver's past, combined with a rich NFL history helped to inform our nod to the Broncos of old. An iconic "D" Logo and legacy blue helmet served as the foundation of the look, pairing with a traditional color palette of royal blue, orange, and white. To deepen the nostalgic factor of the look, we also included black and cream compliments. To round out our package, we created backgrounds, elements from the uniform, and textures with an editorial inspiration.

2025 EXPANSION
Extending the campaign system.
The 2025 Throwback brand gave us an unique opportunity to re-imagine a beloved era of Broncos' history through three distinct creative executions. throughout the season, we hosted throwback games against the Cowboys, Raiders and Chargers, each layered with its own thematic identity: Vamos Broncos, Thursday Night Football, and Fan Appreciation. Our challenge was to build a system versatile enough to flex across all three moments while still feeling intentional, fresh, and deeply connected to the heritage it celebrated.
To achieve this, we refined and expanded this visual language of the throwback identity—introducing updated backgrounds, textures, innovative hierarchy with text, added lockups, and so much more to achieve compelling graphics all year.
